Microvascular Intervention/ Interventional treatment/ TAE, TACE, TAC
Microvascular intervention, specifically TAE (Transarterial Embolization), TACE (Transarterial Chemoembolization), and sometimes TAC (Transarterial Chemotherapy), are interventional radiology techniques used to treat solid cancer. These procedures involve delivering materials through the artery to either block blood flow to a tumor (embolization) or deliver chemotherapy directly to the tumor (chemoembolization).
Cryosurgery/ Cryoablation
Cryosurgery, also known as cryotherapy or cryoablation, is a medical procedure that uses extreme cold to destroy abnormal tissues, including cancer cells. It can be used to treat a variety of conditions, including skin cancers, some internal tumors, and even benign conditions like fibroadenomas.
Proton Beam Therapy
Proton beam therapy (PBT) is a type of radiation therapy that uses a beam of high-energy protons to treat cancer. Unlike traditional X-ray radiation therapy, protons can be precisely targeted at a tumor, minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissues and organs. This targeted approach can lead to fewer side effects and potentially better treatment outcomes.
Nano Knife/ Irreversible electroperation
NanoKnife/Irreversible electroporation (IRE) is a minimally invasive cancer treatment that uses high-voltage electrical pulses to destroy cancer cells while sparing surrounding tissues. The NanoKnife system delivers these pulses through thin needles, creating pores in cancer cell membranes and leading to cell death.
Targeted therapy
Targeted therapy is a cancer treatment that focuses on disrupting specific proteins and genes that drive cancer growth and spread, while minimizing harm to healthy cells. It’s a form of precision medicine, aiming to match treatments to the individual genetic makeup of the cancer. Targeted therapies can work by blocking signals that tell cancer cells to grow, marking cancer cells for destruction by the immune system.
碘粒子疗法
Brachytherapy/ Iodine Seed 125 implantation
Brachytherapy, particularly using Iodine-125 seeds, involves implanting small, radioactive seeds directly into a tumor or near the tumor to deliver targeted radiation therapy. This technique, also known as seed implantation or low dose-rate brachytherapy, is used to treat various cancers, including prostate, liver, lung tumors.
